

Francis Suarez
Francis X. Suarez has more than 13 years of experience in real estate and corporate finance, covering the gamut of clients’ real estate needs, from acquisitions and financing to sales and joint ventures. He also has served as outside general counsel to a variety of companies. At Quinn Emanuel, Mr. Suarez advises clients with respect to a wide variety of business disputes.
Mr. Suarez is the former Mayor of the City of Miami, having held the office from 2018 to 2025. He was dedicated to elevating the quality of life of the residents he served by focusing on transportation and connectivity issues within the city and beyond, nurturing the growth of a tech-based economy in the area and, by extension, job creation and international opportunities with Latin America. Mr. Suarez was elected to serve as the President of the U.S. Conference of Mayors for the 2022-2023 term. He formerly served as Second Vice President of the U.S. Conference of Mayors. He is vice-chair of the Miami-Dade Transportation Planning Organization and immediate past president of the Miami-Dade County League of Cities, to name a few. He previously served as Commissioner for the City of Miami, District 4, working to raise the standards of the city in which he was born and raised. His civic accomplishments on behalf of the city are extensive.
Mr. Suarez was recognized by Fortune Magazine on its "World's 50 Greatest Leaders 2021" list, where he was ranked at #20. In 2019 he was ranked by TIME Magazine as a “Leader,” on the "TIME 100 Next List" and in 2017 he was recognized as Elected Official of the Year by the Latin Builder’s Association.
